FORT PIERCE, Fla. — The Iowa Central swimming team was in action here last week at the NJCAA Championships.

The Triton men finished third overall and the women placed fifth.

Luis De Oliveira won the 50 freestyle for Iowa Central and also placed second in the 100 freestyle. He added a third in the 50 butterfly.

Oliveira led off the runner-up 200 freestyle, as Adnan Kabuye, Kaleo Theis and Canyon Jones joined him. The same group also finished second in the 400 freestyle relay.

Kervens Warnon was third in the 200 backstroke and the 200 medley relay of Warnon, Kareem Salah, Oliveira and Kabuye was third.

Makenna Engels, Jenna Braun, Grace Farrington and Morgan Jacobs were second in the 400 medley relay with Paulina Can Barea, Jacobs, Braun and Engels finishing third in the 400 freestyle.
