Dodger girls win Hannover Relays
ALGONA — The Fort Dodge girls track team won for the first time in two years, capturing the Hannover Relays in Algona on Tuesday.
The Dodgers won by two points to earn the team crown.
Fort Dodge sophomore Mariah Myers won the discus on her last throw with a toss of 115 feet.
Myers was also third in the shot put and Elleena Dunn was third in the long jump.
The distance medley team of Heidi Clay, Brooklyn Pommer, Mariaha Benedict and Morgan Bodholdt were second.
“This is one of the most complete teams we have had in a while,” said Fort Dodge head coach Todd Constable. “They don’t care about individual results, they want to know how we did in the team race.
“These girls are unselfish and are just battling up and down the lineup.”
Fort Dodge is back in action on Friday at Clear Lake.
