Dodgers win twice at Nevada
NEVADA — Connor Carver and Jordan Lessmeier secured top finishes for the Fort Dodge boys track and field team here Tuesday evening at the Nevada Invitational.
Carver captured the Class A shot put gold with a toss of 46-0, while Lessmeier won the long jump with a leap of 20-00.75.
Carver added to his busy night with a third in the 110 hurdles (15.91) and a fourth in the 400 hurdles (59.82).
“Overall, it was a good night for the boys,” FDSH head coach Kevin Astor said. “Connor had several strong performances and Jordan really had a big jump in his first time competing in the event outdoors.
“I thought everybody just did a great job for our first time outside.”
Noah Daniel was fourth in the 100 (12.14), while the 4×100 relay of Lessmeier, Daniel, Hunter Richardson and Val Hensley finished fourth in 47.17.
Jacob Marxen was fifth in the discus and Drayton Miller fifth in the shot put.
Fort Dodge is scheduled to compete on Saturday at the Don Graves Classic in Des Moines.
