ALGONA — The Bishop Garrigan football team ended reign of eight-player king Remsen St. Mary’s here Friday night at Conway Field. Thanks to a trick play on offense and strong defense all night, the Golden Bears advanced to the quarterfinals with a 21-18 victory. SIOUX CENTER — Algona nearly pulled off a first round upset in Class 3A on Friday, but Sioux Center held the Bulldogs scoreless in the second half. The Bulldogs (6-4 overall) — the 12th-seed — fell 28-21 to the fourth-seeded Warriors (9-1).
