HAROLD J. MESSERLY
Harold J. Messerly, 85, of Fort Dodge died on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, April 23, 2021 at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A graveside service will be 11am Saturday, April 24, 2021 at North Lawn Cemetery.
Harold J. Messerly was born on August 15, 1935 to Kenneth and Majorie (Engelmann) Messerly in Fort Dodge, IA. Harold served two years in the Army and four years in the reserves. Harold J. Messerly was united in marriage to Bonnie Richards on October 15, 1955 at First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. He worked for 40 years as a journeyman electrician and was a member of IBEW, the Fort Dodge Rifle and Pistol Club, and the NRA.
Harold is survived by his wife of 65 and a half years, Bonnie; his brother, Mark (Carolynn) Messerly; his brother-in-law, George Richards; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marjorie; and his siblings, Patricia, Joanne, Margaret, and Robert.
