MARIE DALLMAN

OTHO — Marie Dallman, 89, of Otho, died November 30, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Andrea Kraushaar. Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services are entrusted with the arrangements.

Marie Stella Echelberger, the daughter of Ralph and Frances (Umsted) Echelberger, was born November 6, 1929 in Lehigh, Iowa. She graduated from Dayton High School (Class of 1943) and later from Wartburg College, School of Business. On August 9, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert Dallman.

She was employed for 18 years at Tony’s Famous Restaurant, manager of Palm Grove Elevator for 18 years, then becoming a founder and volunteer for People Against Cancer for 33 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for 78 years, serving on many committees. She was also past member of Women’s Relief Corp in Dayton.

Survivors include her children Denise (Frank) Wiewel of Otho, Kerry (June) Dallmann of Castle Rock, CO, Darcy (Brian) Becker of Fort Dodge, Jon Dallman of Dickens. Her grandchildren include Megan, Allison, Jeff, Jennifer, Matt, Lisa, Cassie, Austin, Kailee, Kari, Azaria, Charmaine, Candy, Bobbi and Zach along with 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert L. Dallman, her parents Frances and Ralph Echelberger, her son Randy, great granddaughter Keirstyn Swanson, her sisters Vivian Stamschror and Bernice Leckington.

Marie loved and adored her family and church. She enjoyed her morning coffee and dinners out with friends, playing cards, cooking (especially her rye bread and spaghetti sauce) and sharing with all. She will be deeply missed. Her motto to live by was always her 3 F’s; faith, family and friends. Her final gift to all was the donation of her body to the Palmer College of Chiropractic.
