ROCKWELL CITY — Immanuel Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of Rockwell City will hold its annual Steak Sandwich Supper from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The menu will include rib eye steak sandwich or hamburger, cheesy potatoes, vegetables, bars and drink. The cost is $9 per meal. Take out meals may be ordered by calling 712-297-7708. The church is located five miles east of Rockwell City on D36 (Old Highway 20). Funds raised will be used for mission projects during the coming year.
The First United Methodist Church youth group SALT for middle-school youths will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church, 127 N. 10th St. Children will be picked up at the middle school after classes and parents must pick them up by 5 p.m. A snack is served along with a lesson and lots of games and fun for youths.
Epworth United Methodist Women will hold a salad luncheon and Fall bazaar beginning at 10 a.m. at the Church Narthex, 2025 11th Ave. S. The lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Different kinds of salads along with a lettuce salad and all the “fixin’s”. The bazaar will include bake sale items, craft items and a white elephant table. The bazaar and meal are open to the public. Carry-out will be available. For more information, call 573-4415.
How to make difficult decisions will be explored at noon and 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lifetree Cafe. The program, titled “Making Life’s Toughest Decisions: Dealing With Dilemmas,” features a screening of the award-winning short film The Last Race, the story of a family forced to decide whether to donate the organs of a loved one. “Some decisions simply don’t have easy solutions,” says Lifetree Cafe national director Craig Cable. “We’ll take a close look at these dilemmas and explore the different processes by which people finally make tough decisions.” ...
First United Methodist Church will host The Filling Station at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the church, 127 N. 10th St. The meal will be from 5-6 p.m. with a contemporary service at 6:15 p.m. Cost is $5 per adult or $15 per family. Reservations are required, please call 576-7586.
