Annual Christmas Fair at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church

CALLENDER — The Women of the Word at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church will hold their annual Christmas Fair and Luncheon on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch menu to include beef burgers or chicken salad in a Krumkaka bowl, salads, fancy cookies, and Scandinavian pastries along with a Bake Sale, Lefse Sale, Christmas Treasures, and Crafts. 4th Gr.-Adults $8; Preschool-3rd Gr. $4; Age 3 and under eat free.

Aglow speaker will talk of experiences working against human trafficking

Gus Arnold will be the speaker at Aglow International at 10 a.m. today at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave. He is involved with Hope Church and Chi Alpha campus ministry at Iowa Central Community College. Arnold participated in a discipleship program called Heartland Masters Commission in Cold Spring, Minnesota, last year. He had the opportunity to be part of a missions trip partnering with an organization called Rahab’s Daughters, which works to rescue as many women as possible from trafficking during the annual Super Bowl week. King Ringers Handbell Choir to perform Nov. 25

The King Ringers Handbell Ensemble will present its Christmas Concert at 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 1436 21st Ave. N. The program will consist of both sacred and secular holiday pieces. Conductors will be Paula Scott, Michelle Curtis, Danielle Border, Dave Swaroff, and Jan Altemeier. EG church to hold fair, lunch today

EAGLE GROVE – First Baptist Church, 1210 S. Commercial in Eagle Grove, will hold a holiday craft fair and luncheon today. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will consist of scalloped chicken, salads, homemade bread, dessert and a drink. The cost for adults is $7. For children age 12 and younger the cost is $4. There will be a bake and craft show.

Laurens UMW Fall Bazaar scheduled for Nov. 17

LAURENS — Laurens United Methodist Women are holding a Fall Bazaar Nov. 17 at the Laurens United Methodist Church. Coffee begins at 9:30 a.m. Booths featuring breads, cookie walk, homemade candies, frozen casseroles, pecan, walnut and cashew nuts, pies, quilts and sewed items, Crafters Corner supplies, and good as new items will open at 10 a.m. Bags of Jumpy Monkey coffee, both ground and whole bean, will also be sold. Noon lunch of creamed chicken and biscuits will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch is $7 for adults and $3 for children 5 and under. The bazaar will close at 1 p.m.

Church Veterans Appreciation set for Nov. 18

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1436 21st Ave. N., is hosting a veterans appreciation program and free meal at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18. Any area veteran and guest are invited to attend. If you have a picture of yourself in uniform and/or any memorabilia you would like to share, bring it with you. Reservations are required by Nov. 14 by calling 573-3174.
