Christmas cantata set at First Covenant Church

The choir of First Covenant Church will perform its Christmas cantata, entitled ‘‘Adore Him,’’ on Dec. 8-9. The performance will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 8 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 9. Both performances will be at the church, 201 Ave. H. Aglow International to meet Dec. 8

Aglow International of Fort Dodge & Surrounding Area will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave. The theme of the meeting will be everyone has a story to tell. German lunch set at Humboldt church

HUMBOLDT — The Zion Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will hold its 30th annual Gemutlichkeit Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1005 11th Ave. N. German ethnic foods will be served. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Pre-schoolers eat free. Carry-out and drive-up meals availabe for those who buy tickets in advance. Scandinavian Tea in Emmetsburg Wednesday

EMMETSBURG — Bethany Lutheran Church, Emmetsburg, is holding its annual Scandinavian Tea from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Featured at the tea are a large variety of Scandinavian breads and cookies served by costumed waitresses. There will also be a bake sale.
