King Ringers Handbell Choir to perform Nov. 25

The King Ringers Handbell Ensemble will present its Christmas Concert at 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 1436 21st Ave. N. The program will consist of both sacred and secular holiday pieces. Conductors will be Paula Scott, Michelle Curtis, Danielle Border, Dave Swaroff, and Jan Altemeier. The concert will open with “Good Christians Friends Rejoice” featuring Joan Arndt playing a bell tree in imitation of a zimbelstern, followed by the lively “Carol of the Bells”, the lovely “Birthday of a King” and “Christmas Trilogy” with Dave Swaroff performing on the trumpet. Secular pieces will include “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth,” “Jangle Bells” and “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.” “Fantasia on Greensleeves” will feature Michelle Curtis playing flute and Bill Secor playing cello. The audience will join the bells, Judy Zoch playing organ, Susan Swaroff playing timpani and Dave again on trumpet in performing “Angels We Have Heard on High.” “Comfort, Comfort” will close the concert featuring various percussion instruments and Michelle playing flute. Two solos will feature Judy Zoch and Janine Niemeyer. A six member ensemble will share “We Wish You a Ragtime Christmas” arranged by the Campanile Jazz Ensemble.
