Second Baptist Church to hold fish fry

Second Baptist Church, 1827 Fourth Ave. S., will hold a fish fry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 18. The fish is whole whiting fillets. Dinner is $12 and includes Jojo potatoes, cole slaw, texas toast and soda. A sandwich with soda costs $8. Steve Clayton, from Clayton’s Chicken and Ribs, is the cook. There will be inside seating, curbside pickup and delivery. For orders please call 573-5580.

Aglow International to meet May 18

The May gathering of Aglow International of Fort Dodge and Surrounding Area is 10 a.m. May 18 at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave. Aglow will host Lisa Castillo, of Ames. Castillo will be sharing her own personal testimony and a word from Joshua Chapter 1. Calvary Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1315 10th Ave. SW, is holding a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. There will be a giveaway at the end of the sale.

First United Methodist Church Rummage/Bake Sale starts Thursday

First United Methodist Church, 127 N. 10th St., will hold a rummage/bake sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday is a “sneak peek” sale from 4 to 6 p.m. for a $2 donation or donation of two food or paper products per person. The donations will go to the Lord’s Cupboard. The sale is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Saturday will feature $2 per bag or half-price on large items.
