First Congregational to hold cookie sale
First Congregational United Church of Christ annual Christmas cookie and bake sale, “Cookies and More,” is 9 a.m. to noon today at the church, 1611 Williams Drive. The sale will include large containers of cookies plus other Christmas goodies and crafts.
Boxholm church to serve Swedish meatball dinner
BOXHOLM — Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm will hold a Swedish meatball dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Freewill donations will be accepted.
Grace Lutheran to hold special Advent services
In addition to regular worship services at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, additional worship services will be held during Advent at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 S. Ninth St. The community is invited. On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., the church will celebrate St. Nicholas (a.k.a. “Santa Claus”). He was known for his generosity so that will be the theme that evening. With special music and a little surprise, it should be an uplifting experience. Aglow International to meet at Fort Dodge Public Library Dec. 7
Aglow International will host Gabriel Sanders, of Humboldt, at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave. There will be time of worship, reception and revelation into another aspect of the living word of God. Bethany Lutheran Scandinavian Tea is Wednesday
EMMETSBURG — Bethany Lutheran Church, Emmetsburg, is holding its annual Scandinavian Tea from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The tea will feature a large variety of Scandinavian breads and cookies served by costumed waitresses. There will also be a bake sale. The tickets are $7 for adults, $2 for children and free for preschoolers.
