The Fort Dodge City Council will consider hiring an architect to handle some upgrades at the Fort Dodge Public Library. The council will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S. The library by the City Square opened in 2001. The proposed improvements include new carpeting, painting, upgraded doors, a more efficient service desk and an improved layout of the interior. DAYTON — The 15th annual Dayton Old Engine Day & Car Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 23 in Oak Park. It will feature antique tractors, old engines, classic cars, a citywide garage sale and food. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 participants in the car show. Peoples’ Choice trophies will be awarded at the end of the day.
