Supervisors approve purchase of tractor

The Webster County Supervisors approved the purchase of a John Deere tractor for the Secondary Roads Department Tuesday. The supervisors approved the purchase of a John Deere 6140M tractor from KC Nielsen, Ltd. for $157,800.63. The tractor will be a replacement for another in the Roads Department’s fleet. Sports, theater building at FDSH gets OK

A separate building housing a weight room and a shop for building stage scenery was included in the Fort Dodge Senior High School renovation proposal that voters approved last year by passing the needed borrowing authority. On Tuesday, the city’s Board of Adjustment gave its OK to that building, which may become one of the first pieces of the $42 million high school project to get underway. Genealogical Society to leave FD library

The Webster County Genealogical Society has been ordered to move out of its space in the Fort Dodge Public Library by Nov. 21. The Library Board of Trustees sent the society a letter last month ending its agreement for using space in the building. “It wasn’t a decision we took lightly,” Library Director Rita Schmidt said. Library leaders cited two primary reasons why the agreement with the society is being terminated.
