Fort Dodge man faces drug charges

POCAHONTAS – A Fort Dodge man has been arrested in Pocahontas County on several drug charges.

Robert Schliske, 22, of Fort Dodge, was arrested Saturday night after a routine traffic stop.

According to a press release from the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy pulled over Schliske’s vehicle for a traffic violation near Pocahontas County Road C66 and 320th Avenue. The deputy believed Schliske may have been under the influence of drugs, so he took him to the Pocahontas County Courthouse for an evaluation.

Schliske was later charged with operating while intoxicated after an evaluation determined he had used a controlled substance, according to the press release.

Investigators later discovered a little less than a pound of marijuana and a digital scale in Schliske’s trunk, according to the press release. This led to him being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, drug tax stamp violation, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was ordered held on $13,300 bond in the Pocahontas County Jail.
