Blanden seeks volunteer docents

The Blanden Memorial Art Museum will host an informational meeting on becoming a volunteer docent. The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the museum, 920 Third Ave. S. Docents are community members who lead tours for area schools, businesses, and institutions. The Blanden is looking to add 10 enthusiastic volunteers to be cultural stewards from our community. This is a great opportunity for community members who want to make an impact but have limited time to commit. You do not need to know about art to be a docent, you just need a passion for teaching or relating history ...

Fort Dodge Women’s Connection brunch set for Tuesday

Fort Dodge Women’s Connection will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Tea Thyme, 2021 Sixth Ave. S. Duncombe chili cook-off is Sunday

DUNCOMBE — Duncombe’s fourth annual chili cook-off is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Duncombe Community Center, 510 Folger St. Bingo will be played in the tornado shelter from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be chili, raffles, monetary prizes and golden ladle. To participate, chili cooks should text Courtney at 515-297-3693 or email duncombebetterment@gmail.com. Cost is $5 for a spoon, chili cooks eat for free. Submit your favorite soup recipe for a chance to win separate prizes.

Duncombe Paint and Sip set for Monday

DUNCOMBE — Duncombe Betterment Committee is holding Holiday Paint and Sip at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Duncombe Tornado Shelter, 510 Folger St. The cost is $35 per person. Payment can be made by noon Friday by cash or check at City Hall or by Venmo @brittany-miller-36007 by Saturday. Snacks will be provided and those attending are welcome to BYOB.

Livermore omelet breakfast Sunday

LIVERMORE — Livermore Son’s of the American Legion Otto Field Post 415 is holding an omelet breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday in the Livermore Legion basement. Cost is $10 per person.
