The Webster County Veterans Affairs Commission is holding a Veterans Outreach at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. on April 10 at the VFW, 518 S. 29th St. Veterans can hear about veteran’s benefits from a host of different presenters. Many topics will be discussed. This is a great opportunity for veterans, spouses and widows to get information on benefits. GOWRIE — The Zion Endowed Benevolence Team of Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie, is soliciting grant applications for 2025. The purpose of the Endowed Benevolence Program is to extend and enrich the kingdom of God by witnessing in word and deed to people in need both directly and through organized efforts or organizations, especially those not having their own planned giving programs. Hosted by Trinity Diabetes Center, the free Diabetes Support Group provides tools and tips on how to handle the more complex and difficult tasks of diabetes in life. This support group is open to those with diabetes, as well as their family members and/or caregivers. A different topic will be shared each month, and those who attend will receive support, knowledge and ideas. Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month in conference center 2 from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Enter through door 5. The next meeting is Wednesday where the team will cover diabetes medication.
