William Kahle, of Algona, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, Minnesota.
To be named to the Dean’s List, he had to earn a grade point average of 3.6 or better.
Several area students were named to the Dean’s List at Loras College in Dubuque for the spring semester.

A man has been arrested for shooting at another man last summer in Fort Dodge.
Joshua A. Greene Jr., 20, of 838 Eighth Ave. N., was arrested by Fort Dodge police and charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.
According to criminal complaints filed against him, at 7:41 p.m. Aug. 7, 2024, Greene fired a gun at a man in a vehicle in the 1400 block of South 24th Street. The reports do not indicate if the man was injured.

A Fort Dodge man is facing criminal charges because sheriff’s deputies say he hid in a bathroom to look at women.
Mark M. Martinson, 51, of 328 Ave. M West, is charged with four counts of invasion of privacy, according to court records.
In criminal complaints filed against him, Webster County sheriff’s deputies wrote that at 7:55 p.m. May 18, Martinson went into a women’s restroom at Marker 126 along U.S. Highway 20 and hid in a stall. He then observed the women in the restroom, the deputies wrote.
