Woman charged with using wasp spray on officers
A Fort Dodge woman is accused of spraying law enforcement officers with wasp spray, according to criminal complaints.
Morgan A. Flanigan was also armed with a knife at the time, the criminal complaints state.
The incident occurred at 9:48 p.m. June 9 in the 800 block of First Avenue North.
According to online court records, Flanigan resisted arrest, brandished a knife and sprayed wasp spray at officers. Some of the spray landed on a Webster County deputy sheriff’s leg.
Flanigan, 38, of 1714 Rathermel Drive, made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Wednesday.
According to court records, she is charged with interference with official acts, dangerous weapon; assault on persons in certain occupations and disorderly conduct.
Her preliminary hearing on the interference and assault charges was set for July 5. Action on the lesser charge of disorderly conduct was continued for 180 days.
Magistrate Sarah J. Livingston set her bond at $6,000 cash only.
