Manson police, Lions Club holding Operation Christmas

MANSON — The Manson Police and the Manson Lions Club will once again be collecting toys for children and food for the elderly for Operation Christmas 2021.

Last year, Operation Christmas was able to give a box of canned goods and a ham or turkey to 21 elderly people in the Calhoun County area, and toys to 81 children.

Collection boxes are located at Cubby’s, Manson Hometown Grocery, and Dollar General. Gifts are being collected for children up to age 18. Cash collection boxes are also placed in the Country Store and Cubbys.

Suggested items include hoodies or sweatshirts size medium or large, or personal care items (hair and skin care, makeup/perfume, aftershave) for ages 12-17; video games, remote control toys, Lego, Nerf footballs or whiffle balls and bats, for ages 5 and up; children’s movies for any age, and age-appropriate toys for ages birth to age 5.

All donations will be greatly appreciated and all toys will be delivered by Santa and the Manson Lion’s Club mascot on Dec 19-20. Donation forms may be picked up at Manson City Hall front desk. Please have nomination forms returned by Dec 15.
