Community Early Childhood Center receives grant

The Iowa Women’s Foundation, in partnership with Casey’s, has announced the 2021 Building Community Child Care Solutions Fund recipients.

Community Early Childhood Center is one of six organizations across the state to receive funding.

A total of $40,000 will be awarded to those six organizations. The funds will be used to increase the availability of affordable, quality child care.

Programs include certification, training and licensing for child care entrepreneurs; expansion of facilities; new facilities; and before- and after-school programs.

The BCCCSF began in 2018. To date, $110,000 has been awarded to grantee partners across the state that are working to overcome the child care crisis in Iowa.

The IWF has given $1,150,000 since 1997.

Here are the other organizations to receive grants: Crittenton Center, Sioux City; Hawkeye Community College Foundation, Waterloo; Lil’ Wildcat Education Center, Glidden; Sunflower Child Development, Decorah; and Cedar Valley Kids, Cedar Falls.
