Assessment appeal deadline extended

The deadline to file an assessment appeal with the Webster County Board of Review has been extended until June 5, according to the Iowa State Association of Assessors.

The Board of Review is an independent panel of appointed private citizens that meets for the purpose of hearing protests of assessed property values.

Anyone who disagrees with their assessed value has two options. The first option is calling the local assessor’s office to request an informal review. The deadline for doing that is April 27.

The second option is to file a formal appeal with the Board of Review by June 5.
