Odebolt man gets prison for meth conspiracy

SIOUX CITY — An Odebolt man has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to federal drug and gun charges.

Mark D. Beckman, 32, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and illegal possession of a firearm.

From 2014 through December 2017, Beckman was involved in a meth distribution conspiracy in Sac and Ida counties, according to the United States attorney’s office, Northern District of Iowa.

Beckman admitted to possessing a gun while being both a meth user and the subject of a domestic abuse no-contact order.

He was sentenced Monday in Sioux City to 87 months in prison, which equates to more than four years.

The Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, Ida County Sheriff’s Department and state Division of Criminal Investigation all investigated the case.
