Two arrested in Pocahontas armed robbery

POCAHONTAS — A man and a teenager have been arrested and charged with robbing someone at gunpoint in Pocahontas Saturday afternoon. Gideon Ayafa, 18, of Pocahontas, was charged with first-degree robbery and fifth-degree theft, according to Pocahontas police. A 16-year-old resident of Humboldt was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, going armed with intent, aggravated assault and fifth-degree theft, police reported. A Coalville couple faces multiple criminal charges for reportedly starving their pets, including a dog who died, according to court records. Joshua A. Valley, 38, and Grace A. Christenson, 44, both of 23661 Garfield St., were arrested by Webster County sheriff’s deputies and charged with animal neglect with serious injury or death.
