A man died as a result of a shooting Friday afternoon, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.
A suspect has been detained, police reported.
Police said the shooting was an isolated incident between two people who knew each other and that there is no threat to the public.
The shooting was reported at 1:52 p.m. in the 1300 block of Third Avenue North.
