A blazing motorhome confronted Fort Dodge firefighters late Saturday night. At 11:53 p.m. a motorhome on fire was reported at 205 M St. When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames in the backyard of the home. A single hoseline was used to put it out. The fire was contained to the motorhome, which was destroyed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fort Dodge police assisted firefighters at the scene. The Fort Dodge City Council will have a public hearing on the proposed property tax levy this evening followed by a special meeting on sanitary sewer work. The public hearing will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S. The proposed property tax levy for the fiscal year that begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2027, will be considered.
