Local winery featured on Iowa Farm Store Crawl

Soldier Creek Winery to host visitors from across state

Hundreds of visitors will be making a stop in Webster County this weekend as part of the first ever Choose Iowa Farm Store Crawl — an initiative that encourages Iowans to support local farmers and small businesses while exploring Iowa’s agricultural offerings.

Soldier Creek Winery, 1584 Paragon Ave, is one of 70 Choose Iowa members chosen from across the state that will welcome guests Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the new event.

“As proud members of Choose Iowa, we are always excited to participate in events that promote agritourism and encourage visits to the farms where your favorite products are made,” said Megan Secor, marketing coordinator for Soldier Creek Winery. “The Iowa Farm Store Crawl provided us with another fantastic opportunity from Choose Iowa that we couldn’t pass up. We will be open during our regular hours, Friday 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday to 6 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Join us for a live performance by Kris Karr on Friday and enjoy Bingo on Sunday.”

Other north central Iowa stops include 105 Lincoln in Goldfield, Nimrod Meats in Iowa Falls, Red Granite Farm in Boone, and the Story City Locker.

“The Choose Iowa Farm Store Crawl is a fantastic opportunity for Iowans and visitors to experience our diverse and thriving agriculture,” Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig said in a written statement. “By connecting directly with local farmers, businesses and restaurants, this inaugural event celebrates Iowa’s rich agricultural heritage and showcases our abundant supply of Iowa grown, made and raised food, beverages and ag products.”

A list of all 70 participants throughout the State of Iowa is located online at ChooseIowa.com.

Starting at $2.99/week.
