Paton man charged with murder

Wilson arrested in death of 2-month-old son

PATON — A Paton man is behind bars after being charged in the death of his 2-month-old son.

Nolan Roger Wilson, 26, was arrested Friday and charged with first degree murder and child endangerment that led to death, according to court records. Wilson is currently being held in the Greene County Jail without bond.

According to court records, Wilson called 911 on Sept. 3 and told the dispatcher that his 2-month-old son was in a baby swing sleeping. He said that at some point in the overnight hours, blood came from the baby’s mouth, he had stopped breathing, and was cold to the touch. Wilson asked the dispatcher to send an ambulance.

Emergency personnel confirmed upon arrival that the child was deceased. Wilson told law enforcement that he was the sole caretaker for the baby for roughly 24 hours prior to his death.

Upon examination by the State Medical Examiner’s Office, it was found that the baby had severe head injuries including contusions and hemorrhages of the scalp, a subdural hemorrhage, hemorrhages of his optic nerve and retina in the right eye, rib fractures, and fractures in the left humerus, femur, and tibias.

Wilson is also charged with domestic assault for strangling his wife on Aug. 27.

Wilson’s preliminary hearing for all charges is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Greene County Courthouse.

Starting at $4.94/week.
