FONDA — Fonda Arts Center, Fonda, presents author Michelle Cowan at 2 p.m. SUNDAY. Cowan will be telling her story of loss and recovery and sharing her book, “Better not Bitter.” Admission and refreshments are free.

HARCOURT — The American Legion will hold a Feather Party at 7 p.m. on SATURDAY in the Harcourt Community Center, 116 Larch St. Play bingo for a chance to win a turkey. Food and refreshments will be served.

BOXHOLM — The Boxholm Community Club pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. on SATURDAY in the Boxholm Community Building. Freewill donations will be accepted.

FORT DODGE — Facing Autism Inc. is holding a Christmas Movie Trivia and Silent Auction fundraiser at 6 p.m. TODAY at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1436 21st Ave. N. The silent auction begins at 6 p.m., followed by trivia at 7 p.m. There is a maximum of six people per trivia team. There will prizes for first, second and third place teams. No registration is required. A freewill donation will be accepted. Light refreshments will be provided.

FORT DODGE — Dickens of a Christmas Vendor Show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. SATURDAY at the Fort Opera House, 1 Museum Road. There will be handcrafted items, artwork, music and Santa.

FORT DODGE — The Beacon of Hope men’s shelter will hold a Night of Hope at 6:30 p.m. SATURDAY at Historic Phillips Auditorium, 1014 Fifth Ave. N. The event will include a blues concert by Jimmie Bratcher. Appetizers will be provided by Iowa Central Community College Culinary Arts students. Tickets are $30 and will be available at the door.
