FD man arrested for bank robbery
Availa Bank triggered panic alarm following Friday robbery
A Fort Dodge man is in custody following a bank robbery on Friday afternoon.
According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, the panic alarm at Availa Bank, 130 N. 29th St., was triggered at 3:35 p.m. Friday. Officers were dispatched and notified that a bank robbery had just occurred. Investigators spoke with witnesses on scene and a suspect was identified.
At approximately 6:31 p.m., a Webster County deputy located the suspect’s vehicle traveling on U.S. Highway 20. Following a traffic stop, the suspect, Juan Alberto Flores-Andino, 66, of Fort Dodge, was taken into custody without incident.
Flores-Andino is charged with robbery in the second degree and theft in the second degree, both felonies.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
