Growth Alliance plans annual dinner

MidAmerican Energy VP to be speaker

The Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance expects a full house for its March 2 annual dinner.

“It’s once a year that we get an opportunity to get our members together to celebrate much of the success of the prior year,” said Dennis Plautz, the chief executive officer of the alliance.

The Catalyst Award, the highest honor bestowed by the alliance, will be presented that night.

The alliance’s Volunteer of the Year Award will also be presented.

The United Way and Community Foundation of Fort Dodge will have a presentation at the dinner.

The keynote speaker will be Kathryn Kunert, vice president of economic connections and integration at MidAmerican Energy.

Kunert oversees key accounts, business accounts, business and community development, franchises, sponsorship, donations and special projects.

She joined MidAmerican Energy in 1996, and has worked in government affairs, community relations, economic development and corporate communications. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

The dinner will be March 2 at Fort Frenzy, 3232 First Ave. S. The social hour begins at 5 p.m. and the actual dinner will start at 6 p.m.

It is apparently sold out. For information, call the alliance at 515-955-5500.
