FDPD assists in apprehension of Nevada fugitive

Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department assisted federal law enforcement in locating and arresting a fugitive from Nevada on Wednesday.

According to a press release from FDPD Capt. Dennis Quinn, the FBI’s Criminal Apprehension Team from Las Vegas reached out about an offender who had multiple warrants out for his arrest. The CAT believed the fugitive might be staying in Fort Dodge.

After an investigation, authorities executed a search warrant at 130 Country Club Drive and arrested 31-year-old Henderson, Nevada, resident Brett Anderson Knutson. Knutson was arrested without incident.

Knutson faces three charges of sexual assault against a child under 14 in Nevada. He is being held in the Webster County Jail on a $75,000 cash/surety bond and is awaiting extradition back to Nevada.

According to the bench warrant from Clark County, Nevada, Knutson failed to appear in court on the sexual assault charges on Aug. 2.
