Drowning victim recovered from North Twin Lake

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and other local first responders search part of North Twin Lake at Treman Park for a drowning victim Monday. The search was suspended around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

TWIN LAKES — The body of a drowning victim was recovered from North Twin Lake on Tuesday morning.

Calhoun County first responders were first called to the beach swimming area at Treman Park around 5:15 p.m. on Monday for a report of a 25-year-old Hispanic male who had gone under the water and did not resurface.

The dive team from Buena Vista County’s Emergency Management was dispatched to assist with the search in the water, which was suspended at dusk at about 9:30 p.m.

Recovery operations continued Tuesday morning.

Rockwell City Fire Rescue, Twin Lakes Rescue and Manson Fire Rescue all initially responded, along with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.

No other information has been released at this time.
