Iowa Central directors run for reelection

There will be four Iowa Central Community College Board of Directors positions on the ballot Tuesday.

Brandon Wessels, of Palmer, will be running for reelection for his District 2 seat.

Bennett O’Connor, of Fort Dodge, will be running again for his District 6 seat.

Mark Crimmins, of Fort Dodge, will be running for reelection for his District 7 seat.

Larry Hecht, of Storm Lake, currently holds the District 3 seat, but due to a technicality in his paperwork, his name will not be on the ballot. Hecht is now running for his current seat, but as a write-in candidate.

All four candidates are running unopposed. Currently there are no vacancies on the board.

The Iowa Central Community College Board of Directors is composed of nine members, one from each Director District. Each board member must reside in their respective Director District and if they move to a different district, they vacate their position on the board. The powers and duties of the board members are prescribed for boards of directors of local school districts by Chapter 279 of the Iowa Code.

Starting at $4.94/week.
