LEHIGH — A 59-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after she lost control of her SUV while driving in rural Webster County on Wednesday just before 10 p.m.

According to the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Darcel Pittman, of Lehigh, was driving a 2007 Ford Escape southbound on Samson Avenue toward Lehigh near 290th Street when the vehicle went off the road to the right, driving in the ditch for a ways before hitting part of the ditch and rolling the SUV onto its top.

Pittman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She suffered injuries to her ribs and pelvis.

Lehigh Fire Department was on scene to provide initial medical support. Pittman was then transported by Fort Dodge Fire Rescue to UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center. She later received care at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
