ALGONA — The St. Edmond girls golf team placed third here Tuesday in action against Algona and Hampton-Dumont/CAL at River Road Golf Course.

Algona was first with a 192, Hampton-Dumont/CAL had a 244 and the Gaels carded a 276.

Ashlyn Swisher paced St. Edmond with a round of 63, followed by Kaci McGonegle (70), Irelyn Derrig (70), Abby Webster (73), Abby Tofolin (74) and Ann Veneziano (75).

Swisher carded a par on No. 5 for the Gaels to highlight her round.

“It was a tough course but a good test for the girls,” SEHS head coach Maurice Ruble said. “We’ve got work to do, but for many, the consistency is coming.”

Gabby Venteicher was medalist, as the Algona golfer shot a 45.
