Semi driver killed in Monday crash southeast of Fort Dodge
The driver of a semitrailer was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of Paragon Avenue and Mill Road.
Jacob A. Miller, 38, of Quapaw, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders arrived.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that Miller, driving south on Paragon Avenue, lost control while negotiating a curve as he turned onto Mill Road at about 12:20 p.m. After leaving the roadway, the semi overturned with the point of impact on the top of the vehicle.
The 2000 Peterbilt was totaled.
The ISP report indicated there were no apparent driver distractions and that the driver was in apparently normal condition before the crash. Weather and road conditions were clear at the time of the crash.
