Capt. Jason Vandi, of the Fort Dodge Fire Department, left, Lt. Eric Conell, and Lt. Ben Waynar, gather near a trailer home that caught fire Saturday morning. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, according to Fort Dodge Fire Chief Steve Hergenreter. No injuries were reported.

A trailer home in a Village Green lot was damaged by smoke and fire early Saturday morning, according to Fort Dodge Fire Chief Steve Hergenreter.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:48 a.m. to 3102 N. 15th St., Lot 110.

Initial reports indicated a female was still inside the structure. But when firefighters arrived she had safely gotten out, Hergenreter reported.

“The fire was quickly extinguished by crews,” Hergenreter said. “It was pretty significant fire damage to the front half of the home and smoke damage throughout.”

Part of the roof was blackened by the smoke.

The cause is believed to be an electrical failure, Hergenreter reported.

Firefighters were on scene for about an hour.

The Fort Dodge Police Department also responded.
