The Messenger to print Thanksgiving edition early

The Messenger will be putting out its most sought-after edition of the year on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is the traditional start of the holiday shopping season. The Messenger will have advertising circulars and ads from dozens of area retailers that highlight their Black Friday and weekend sales that entice shoppers in droves to their locales.

This year The Messenger is going to print its Thanksgiving Day newspaper at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Thanksgiving Day Messenger will be available to purchase inside Fort Dodge stores by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Fort Dodge newspaper vending machines will be filled by 7 p.m. Wednesday.

If you live in a community outside of Fort Dodge, you will be able to purchase a Thanksgiving Day Messenger as early as 5 p.m. Wednesday or, at the latest, by 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The newsstand price for the Thanksgiving edition is $1.50.

If you subscribe to The Messenger, your carrier will deliver your newspaper by 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Rural subscribers who normally receive their Messenger through the mail will have a newspaper delivered to them before 8 a.m. Thursday.

Circulation customer service will be open from 6 to 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day to take your calls.
