Scholl wins in Humboldt

Former Frito-Lay employee will serve second term as mayor

HUMBOLDT — Dan Scholl won re-election as mayor of Humboldt after Tuesday night’s election.

Scholl, a former Frito-Lay employee for more than 33 years, collected 608 votes, making up 53.15% of the total.

Scholl’s challenger, Walter Jensen earned 529 votes.

Those results are unofficial.

Scholl has lived in Humboldt for 38 years. He works at the Humboldt Mutual Insurance Management Association as an inspector.

Scholl could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

Jensen once served as mayor before Scholl defeated him by a wide margin in the 2015 election.

Jensen, who has owned a trailer manufacturing company for 40 years, could not be reached for comment.

Scholl served two years as a council member before he ran for mayor.
