FORT DODGE — Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa is holding Almost Homecoming 2019 from 6 to 10 p.m. SATURDAY at Shimkat Motor Co., 3126 Fifth Ave. S. The event will feature food, drink and music. Tickets are $50 per person. All proceeds will go into the organization’s general fund to keep the shelter running.

FORT DODGE — YWCA of Fort Dodge Silver Showcase is SATURDAY at Willow Ridge, 1788 Madison Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. Silent auction is 6:30 to 7 p.m., program from 7 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a live auction. There will be games, appetizers, snacks, desserts and cash bar. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the YWCA, from board members and at the door.

FORT DODGE — Farmers Market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY in the northwest corner of the Crossroads Mall parking lot.

FORT DODGE — The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. TODAY and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY at 1018 First Ave. N. Proceeds go to the charities of the organization and to the building maintenance fund.

FORT DODGE — Soldier Creek Winery, 1584 Paragon Ave., is holding Vineyard Vibrations from 6 to 8 p.m. TODAY. Free live music will be provided by Jake Doty. Food will be available for purchase.

FORT DODGE — Iowa Central Community College STEAMfest is 1 to 4 p.m. SATURDAY at One Triton Circle. Activities include hands on activities, drive a robot and drone, ride a VR roller coaster, creat a terrarium, see the insect zoo and face painting. The event is free and open to the public.

FORT DODGE — Fort Dodge Moose Lodge #806 is holding its bi-annual steak fry from 5 to 8 p.m. TODAY at the lodge, 424 First Ave. S. A charcoal grilled 16-ounce T-bone with two sides and a roll will be served for $15 per person. Carryouts will be avaiable. Tickets may be purchased at the Moose Lodge after 4 p.m., from any Moose member or at the door.

FORT DODGE — Aglow International of Fort Dodge & Surrounding Area will host Connie Hewitt at 10 a.m. SATURDAY at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave. Hewitt, from Bristow, will share a message titled “Hope is the Anchor of My Soul”. Refreshments are provided.

FORT DODGE — Blanden Memorial Art Museum, 920 Third Ave. S., is holding Youth Art Classes SATURDAY. “What is a Mosaic?” for 6 to 10 year olds is 10 a.m. to noon. “How many different textures can you create in a mosaic?” for 11 to 16 year olds is 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Class sizes are limited to 12. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

FORT DODGE – Golden K Kiwanis and Daybreak Rotary will hold their soup, chili and homemade pie supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. TODAY at Community Christian School, 2406 9 1/2 Ave. S. Adults are $10, children aged 5 to 10 are $5. Children 4 and under are free.

FORT DODGE — Fort Dodge Area Symphony fall concert is 3 p.m. SUNDAY at the Fort Dodge Middle School auditorium, 800 N. 32nd St. Ticket are $10 for adults with students admitted free. Season memberships will be available at the door.

WEBSTER CITY — The Kendall Young Library, Webster City, will present the movie “My Little Pony: The Movie” from 10:30 a.m. to noon SATURDAY at the library.

EMMETSBURG — Zombie Lake Community College VII is 8 to 10:30 p.m. SATURDAY at 3200 College Drive, Emmetsburg. The haunted house entrance is Entrance 3. Admission is two canned food/non-perishable food items per person. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All donations will go to Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Emmetsburg.

WEBSTER CITY — John Rapson, Humanities Iowa presenter, will present “Hot Tamale Louie: Telling Stories Without Words” at 1 p.m. SATURDAY at Mulberry Center Church in Wilson Brewer Historic Park, Webster City. Admission is free.

CALLENDER — Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Callender, is holding its 11th annual hand-breaded pork tenderloin supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. SATURDAY. The meal includes a tenderloin sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, chips and dessert bars. Proceeds will go to Jerry Kruse for medical expenses. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for fifth grade children and younger (half sandwich). Carryouts will be available.

DAYTON — McGuire Bend United Brethren Church, rural Dayton, is holding its annual fall supper and bazaar SATURDAY. Homemade chili, vegetable beef soup, beefburgers and pie will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. for a freewill offering. An auction will begin at 7 p.m. with homemade rye bread, pecan pie, crafts and more.

RUTHVEN — Palo Alto County Conservation is sponsoring a bike ride around Lost Island Trail at 5 p.m. TODAY. Meet in the Nature Center parking lot and ride the completed bike trail around Lost Island Lake. The ride is for ages 12 years and up. Pre-registration is required by calling (712) 837-4866.

EMMETSBURG — A Dad’s Belgian Waffle fundraiser for the Lost Island Nature Center is 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. SUNDAY at the VFW, Emmetsburg. Advance tickets are $7.50 and may be purchased by calling the Nature Center at (712) 837-4866. Tickets at the door are $8.

EMMETSBURG — First United Methodist Church, Emmetsburg, is holding a soup supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. SUNDAY in the new Family Life Center. Chili, chicken noodle soup and vegetable beef soup will be served for a freewill donation.
