HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt man is dead after falling into an empty grain bin Monday afternoon, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department.

The fall was reported at 3:55 p.m. on the property of 1674 230th St., west of Humboldt.

Dean Coleman, 62, was transported by ambulance to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, before being airlifted to a Des Moines hospital.

Coleman later died as a result of the injuries he suffered, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Ambulance.
