Connections acquires Cornerstone

‘This will make us one of the larger competitors in the area’

A Fort Dodge property management company has tripled its size with a recent acquisition, according to a broker for the firm.

Connections Property Management assumed operations of Cornerstone Property Management on Monday.

“It’s a good growth pattern for what we have going on,” said Scott Underberg, broker for Connections. “We have a successful property management service as it is. This will make us one of the larger competitors in the area.”

Jim Gottschalk and his wife, Gwenn Gottschalk, owned Cornerstone together.

Gwenn Gottschalk reported that the couple will still own United Property Group.

“Jim and I have a good working relationship,” Underberg said. “He decided to make a change and offer his business to us.”

Underberg added, “We will bring them under our wing and move the company over here to our brokerage.”

Underberg said Connections manages hundreds of units in the Fort Dodge area for a variety of owners, including single-family homes, complexes, duplexes, and commercial properties.

“We tripled our size with this transaction,” Underberg said.

Finding and screening tenants, advertising properties for rent, coordinating maintenance efforts, and taking care of evictions if needed, are some of the services Connections provides.

Connections’ office is located at 1302 Central Ave., Suite 200.
