Fort Dodge firefighters remove burned debris from the loading dock of the old Sears building at the Crossroads Mall Friday evening. Firefighters responded after a report of black smoke coming from that area. The space where the fire started is apparently vacant. According to Capt. Jason Vandi, of the Fort Dodge Fire Department, firefighters quickly extinguished the flames with a preconnected hose line. No extension was needed for inside the building. No injuries were reported. The Fort Dodge Police Department was also on scene.
