FDPD outlines ZZ TOP parking rules
Thousands expected in FD on Saturday for sold-out concert

Before anyone can enjoy the music at Saturday’s Shellabration concert featuring ZZ TOP, they’ll have to find a place to park.
The Fort Dodge Police Department has issued instructions for parking during the show Saturday evening at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex.
The gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
According to the Police Department, parking will be available at these locations:
• Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex;
• Fort Dodge Regional Airport (across the road from the sports complex);
• The U.S. Army Reserve Center (across the road from the sports complex);
• The area around Certified Transmission, 1642 Nelson Ave. (south of the sports complex).
Handicapped parking will be available in the northern portion of the sports complex’s paved lot.
Bus and recreational vehicle parking will be near the sports complex entrance.
Parking along the sides of Nelson Avenue is prohibited.
To provide an orderly and safe exit from the area after the show, the Police Department has devised a traffic plan.
All vehicles parked at the sports complex and the Army Reserve Center will be sent north on Nelson Avenue. Both the northbound and southbound lanes will be used for traffic heading north.
Vehicles in what’s generally the southbound lane will be directed west onto 160th Street.
Vehicles in the northbound lane will be directed north on Nelson Avenue.
All vehicles parked at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport and the Certified Transmission area will be directed south on Nelson Avenue using the southbound lane only.
Taxis will be able to enter the sports complex area from the south on Nelson Avenue.
While vehicles are leaving at the end of the concert, all traffic approaching the sports complex area from the north on Nelson Avenue will be directed westbound until the area has cleared.
