Rhone pleads guilty to shooting
A Fort Dodge teen who committed a drive-by shooting in August has pleaded guilty to the charge.
Xavier Rhone, 18, of Fort Dodge, pleaded guilty on Monday morning in Webster County District Court to one count of going armed with intent.
At the hearing, Rhone admitted that he fired two shots from a .22 caliber revolver at 1603 Third Ave. N. on Aug. 18.
He told Judge Thomas Bice that he meant to intimidate a person at that house.
Nobody was hurt in the shooting.
According to Rhone, he fired at the house because of a threat that had been made to him by Tyler Vandivier, who was at the house on that day.
“He called me saying he was going to do it to me,” Rhone told Bice.
The judge accepted Rhone’s guilty pleas and set sentencing for Nov. 3.
Because of his guilty plea, charges of carrying weapons, fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of assault while displaying a weapon will be dismissed.
