Even after 20 years in business, Access Audio and Accessories still loves to ask, ‘Who U Rollin’ With?’

The popular slogan has been attached to Nate Gibson and Tony Blomberg since they first opened the oversized door at 500 First Ave. S. in Fort Dodge.

For the duo, the decision was “a lot like others,” according to Gibson.

“I always wanted my own shop and was unhappy with the direction and future of my employer at the time,” he said. “I was voicing my disapproval when I was presented with an opportunity to join forces with a highly successful local business and open my dream, while being provided with a 65-year history of doing business.

“And with that, a division of Daniel Tire Company — Access Audio and Accessories — was born in 2002.”

Seven years later, Gibson, a Fort Dodge Senior High School graduate, took over full ownership of the business that provides mobile audio, video, remote start and security, radar detectors and vehicle monitoring, while adding “pretty much any and all 12-volt electronics.”

They are also continually looking for the next “it” thing on the scene.

“We continue to look forward for upcoming trends for vehicle integration as both new vehicles advance and smartphone safety and connectivity grows,” Gibson said. “Adding modern features to older vehicles is a daily service, as well.

“Car, boat, truck, bike, UTV or whatever moves you down the road, we have something for you. That’s why we ask, ‘Who U Rollin’ With?'”

And two decades later, they still love doing what they do on a daily basis.

“Every new business starts with hope and a vision,” Gibson said. “After 20 years of providing services to the area, Tony and I still get to come to Access and do what we love.”

They are also key providers to local police and public service vehicles, while always remembering to “provide the same high-level of customer satisfaction and outcome regardless of the product we are working with.”

Gibson calls Blomberg, also a grad of FDSH, his “right-hand man and shop wizard.”

“He has been with me since the first day,” he added. “His dedication to the same vision of doing business with honesty and integrity has allowed us the success and longevity we’ve enjoyed.

“Tony has become a highly-regarded and nationally recognized 12-volt technician. Our knowledge/expertise in remote vehicle starts and control allows us insight and partnerships at not just the installation level, but manufacturing and beta testing for several large companies.

“We continue to be leaders in audio for any mode of transportation or recreational use.”
