AgState announces agronomy warehouse expansions
Groundbreaking set for this summer in Emmetsburg, Fonda
CHEROKEE — AgState is excited to announce the expansion of its Emmetsburg and Fonda agronomy businesses with the addition of new seed and chemical storage warehouses. This investment underscores AgState’s long-term commitment to strengthening its agronomy services, supporting local communities, and building value for its member-owners.
Groundbreaking at both locations is scheduled for the summer of 2025, with estimated project completion by the end of the calendar year.
“These expansions are about more than just added storage — they’re about preparing for the future,” said Sara Meadows, vice president of agronomy for AgState. “We see strong growth potential in Emmetsburg and Fonda, and these projects allow us to better serve our customers while reinforcing our commitment to our members and communities.”
The new warehouses will increase efficiency and capacity, allowing AgState to deliver products and services more effectively during peak agronomy seasons. The improvements also represent a reinvestment into the local economy and into the long-term strength of the cooperative.
“This is an investment in Emmetsburg and Fonda, an investment in our members, and an investment in the future and longevity of AgState,” Meadows said. “We’re proud to support progress in our communities while positioning AgState to meet the evolving needs of agriculture.”
