Melvin Friedrich, of Algona, plays both his button accordion and harmonica when a group of guys got to jamming, polka-style, at the 19th annual Polka Fest at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds. Friedrich said he’s been playing the accordion only about 15 years — since he retired from driving truck. The harmonica was his choice of instrument until then.
