Lursen honored at Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony

Anna Lursen, a senior at St. Edmond Catholic School, was honored at the recent Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony.

Lursen has a 4.062 grade-point average. She has also already earned 77 college credits.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Iowa Central Community College.

Lursen was one of 429 top academic seniors honored at the event. Those students were the highest ranked students from Iowa high schools based on their first seven semesters of high school.

The event was held April 26 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

The Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony is a joint effort of the governor’s office, the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Farm Bureau. This recognition program began in 2003.
